Remember when I made bone broth? Back in the days of boot girl. Bone broth. To heal my bones. Well it totally freaked me out and I have been avoiding using it for months. -Don’t worry it’s been in the freezer. I just have been afraid of it. So good for you. And such a scary texture. Not to dissuade you. Bone broth=good. I keep telling myself. Anyways I finally used it in a soup/stew I made for whole30. Fewf. I also made gazpacho! And I also quickly learned that gazpacho is not something I can eat a lot of. My roommates and boyfriend did NOT help eat as much as they could have. (They are doing whole30 too. And mom). My roommate and I got a spiralzer! It is legitimately as fun as the videos make it look. I love making everything spiraly. Whole30 has definitely shown me that I actually can prepare a “whole” foods meal quickly- and a lack of time isn’t an excuse! It does take more planning that is for sure. But the speed at which I can cook a meal has increased with my hunger! I really am grateful to be doing whole30 right now. Food is our medicine.
Auditions have been going well lately! It has definitely been a learning curve- but I am becoming my own agent. There are so many ways to go after auditions- but it isn’t straightforward at first. But it is becoming easier to find contacts to reach out to to submit videos. To write cover letters to casting directors. To submit for work through specific websites. I truly could stay home all day submitting myself for things. I actually couldn’t because I would go crazy. But there is enough opportunity to fill the time! And the work I have been doing as my own agent has been paying off in terms of getting appointments. This kind of work used to paralyze me- it just takes getting used to. And having the right tools. I was extremely excited for an audition appointment I had today. I prepared everything. Cooked and packed the right food. Went to a specific technique class to warm up. Put tons of hairspray in my hair. The list goes on. Then at the last minute I realized the audition was actually…. Two weeks from today. Somehow me the agent did not communicate with… me.
I started food composting! Finally. It is funny it took me moving to the heart of a city to actually participate in this system. And it’s great timing too because whole30 means a lot of compostable waste! It is so cool the amount of trash that can be prevented from composting. We have a weekly neighborhood drop-off on Wednesdays.
I am apart of a new theatre company! I mentioned them early this year- but at the time I was not as involved. We are the Nerve Project! Website coming soon! I am so excited to be apart of this company and on the board. We were recently accepted in ART- Alliance of Resident Theatres. It is this incredible organization that will basically help us to educate ourselves as we grow- and how to grow. This fall will bring many workshops on budgeting, non-profit work, grant writing, and fundraising. The work this team has done so far is incredible and I am so proud to be apart of it.
Do you have a fitness goal? Do you wish you had a fitness goal? Get yourself a coach. Whatever that means to you. It’s too hard to do it alone. And the thing is- we don’t have to. I have been thinking about this a lot. Everyone needs a coach! I certainly do. Thank goodness for my coaches. And on that note, I am opening up a business for private practice personal training! In-home and in the park. Details soon to come! But hit me up if you’re interested in a free session.
Sharing a link. Here is a cut of a song from “Violet”- one of my very favorite musicals. I made some recordings a few weeks ago and it’s time to share! Click here. There’s many more where that came from on my youtube channel!
